From Pipefitter to Senior Project Estimator, we sat down with Ronnie Lambert to learn more about his career journey!

Q: How did you begin your career in industry?

Ronnie: I started working for Andy Dupuy’s company at the time, United Crafts, in 1996. I went to ABC Pelican Chapter for school and completed NCCER training for Pipefitting.

Q: How did you move from the field to the corporate office?

Ronnie: In 1999, I traveled to Hawaii with Andy to compete in the ABC National Craft Competition. On the flight home, he asked me what I wanted to do, and I told him I wasn’t sure but that I wanted to progress in my career. A few months later, I got a call that there was a spot for me in estimating. From there, I took advantage of specialty classes at ABC Pelican, including Uncommon Leadership, to grow my skill set.

Q: What is your current role at Brown & Root?

Ronnie: I am a Senior Project Estimator within our Estimating team. I specialize in the areas of construction and small capital construction within maintenance.

Q: What is your advice to others looking to advance in their career in industry?

Ronnie: Choose what you like to do and drive to be the best in it. Whether it is pipefitting, estimating, or anything in between, strive to be the best.
