Michael Shipp is Group President, Construction & Specialty Services, for Brown & Root.  With more than 35 years’ management experience in the EPC business, Mike has oversight of the construction and soft crafts (scaffolding, insulation, painting, etc.) business lines of the company.  He joined Brown & Root in 2015 with the acquisition of Petrin Corp, the soft crafts company for which he had served as Chief Operating Officer since 2010.

Interestingly, Mike’s earliest career experience was as a project engineer and project manager for the legacy Brown & Root company, in the 1980s.  His subsequent experience in engineering and projects with chemical and petrochemical owner companies (Dow, CIBA, BASF) brings added insights to the construction projects he manages for Brown & Root.

Michael and his wife Dani live in Baton Rouge.  They have five adult children and two young grandchildren.  In his leisure time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family (calling himself a “master barbecuist”), as well as saltwater fishing, surfing, and sailing.

The leadership of Brown & Root is committed to the highest level of health, safety and environmental performance.  Our behavior-based safety program is focused on keeping our employees safe 24/7, and has resulted in world class safety performance statistics.
